Adjust the app

Open the gear on For You. Language can follow the device or use Français, English or Deutsch. Region controls the operating region when Automatic does not fit. Units can follow the device, use Metric, or US customary; US gallons differ from litres. Navigation app controls the available navigation handoff, including Always ask.

Text size and display scaling follow your phone's system settings. Change them in the device's display or accessibility settings; Litro has no separate font-size control. The interface adapts to larger text without reducing your chosen scale.

Open Permissions & device access to inspect access and follow the relevant system settings link. Revoking access can limit the related feature. Camera and photos concern attachments; nearby devices concern vehicle connections; location and activity concern the features that use them. Enable automatic recording separately after its setup is ready.

Litro in your car contains the phone-side Android Auto preferences. Review fuel recommendations, driving alerts, thresholds and quiet settings there. The car display and supported actions depend on the connected system.

Find Data & backup

Open Settings → Data & backup for portable copies, local counts, community contributions and deletion controls. Open Settings → Help for searchable guidance.

CopyPurpose and limits
Export Litro data — JSONSupported local vehicles, fill-ups, trips, ownership records, parking, places, favorites and essential preferences; suitable for importing into Litro
Export fill-up history — CSVA spreadsheet copy of fill-ups only
Activity → Trips → Export — CSVA filtered trip report; places are opt-in and route coordinates are excluded
Android backupA selected local safety copy prepared for Android; Android controls backup and restoration. It is not a confirmed cloud upload or full Litro sync.

Portable JSON and the Android safety copy include vehicle maintenance and ownership records, completed trips and their grouping, parking, and saved places. Neither copies parking photos as transferable attachments. Credentials, phone permissions, Bluetooth pairing and active recordings are not restored from the safety copy. Keep original photos separately and recheck device setup.

On iPhone, the device may include Litro in its backup; Litro cannot inspect or verify that backup. The user-controlled JSON export remains available.

Make and restore a portable copy

  1. Choose Export Litro data, then choose where to keep the JSON file.
  2. Verify that the destination actually contains the file. A share-sheet action by itself does not prove the file reached your chosen destination.
  3. To restore, first export the current records you want to keep.
  4. Choose Import a Litro backup, select a compatible JSON file and inspect the preview. Confirm replacement only if it is the intended copy.
  5. After completion, check the records in Activity and My vehicles. Review permissions, automatic recording, vehicle links and reminders on the new phone.

Import replaces supported local data; it is not a general merge of installations. Cancelling the file picker or preview leaves data unchanged. Files can contain private routes, places and notes. Choose a suitable storage destination.

Privacy and deletion

Optional analytics is off by default and can be changed in Settings. It concerns limited feature-use signals, not your precise routes, vehicle names, notes or exact odometer readings. Minimal operational telemetry and the legal agreement record are separate. Features you explicitly use, including online search, alerts, price contributions and support, have their own data needs.

Data & backup separates Delete optional analytics, Delete local data, Delete data hosted by Litro and Delete all my data. Read the scope and confirmation before proceeding. Deleting local records is not the same as deleting hosted data; Delete all combines local deletion and a hosted-data request. Litro cannot directly erase copies you saved elsewhere or enumerate Android's backup provider. Export anything you need before deletion.

Use the Privacy Policy and Terms links for the current legal details. For app version and available updates, open Settings → About. Check the guide's troubleshooting page before clearing data to solve a problem.
